The New York University Center for Data Science is collecting your answers for use in research on computer understanding of English. Thank you for your help!
We will present you with a question and a prompt. Your job is to figure out if the prompt (on the bottom) contains an answer to the question (on top):
Choose answered if the prompt on the bottom contains information that offers an answer to the question on top. Example:
“What would a teacher do for someone who is cocky?”
“The function of the teacher is to pressure the lazy, inspire the bored, deflate the cocky, encourage the timid, detect and correct individual flaws, and broaden the viewpoint of all.”
Choose not answered if the prompt on the bottom does not contain any information that answers the question on top. Example:
“How many people were lost in Algiers during 1620-21?”
“Plague was present in at least one location in the Islamic world virtually every year between 1500 and 1850.”
You do not have to worry about whether the writing style is maintained between the questions and the prompt.
